What an exciting day on Friday! In anticipation of St. Patrick’s Day, a leprechaun visited our classroom, made a terrible mess, and appeared to escape through the window before we returned from specials. The excitement of the day continued with our PBIS reward. Students were able to mingle in the hallway with the other first grade classes while they enjoyed delicious shamrock shakes. Thank you to everyone that sent in supplies and for helping make this day so much fun!
Here is some important information for the weeks ahead:
Important! Musical Information: Students have been hard at work practicing for the 1st grade musical, “Weather the Weather.” Our performance for the school is Wednesday morning and we ask that all students wear a blue shirt. The performance for families is Thursday evening, March 21st at 6:00. Here are some important reminders for the performance:
Science Lab: Thank you to all the parents who volunteered to help in the Science Lab this week. Students planted radish seeds and we will check their growth next week. Half were put in the dark and half were put in the sun. We can't wait to see how they grew!
Report Cards: Report cards for the 3rd Nine Week Grading Period will be sent home next Friday, March 22nd.
Cereal Boxes: We are beginning our new writing unit on Writing Fiction Stories and by the end of the unit we will have a collection of stories about our made-up characters. We are going to make a box to hold the stories, so we need one cereal box for each child. We are not going to do this activity for a while, but we are going to start collecting boxes to ensure we have enough. Please save your cereal boxes and send them in for use to use. We don't need a Giant box, just regular size boxes will work. Thank you!
Save Your Pennies!: The SAE Student Council is partnering with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to collect Pennies for Patients. If you are interested in sending in pennies to support this cause, please send them in with your child this week. The collection ends on March 24th. We have a collection box in our classroom. Thank you for your support!
